Maris Barn on the right, which was part of Waverley Dairy Farm, with Lodge Barn in the background, sometime before 1933. Doris Hardy with Ruth & Poppy Nicholas. Edward Papworth with a pitch fork.

Waverley Dairy Farm is now the home of Blue Barrel Cider. They support Trees Are Good, a non-profit organisation. By drinking their cider you are directly supporting orchard regeneration, tree planting & wildlife projects.

It is so interesting to see this. In the 1970s after the death of my grandparents Doris Vera Maris Nicholas and John Trew Nicholas, my husband, an artist, and myself had Maris Barn converted and lived in it for some years before we went our separate ways and the Barn reverted to the family. It has been in the same family Papworth/Nicholas/Jordan for many generations. We could not find a separate name for the barn and called it Maris Barn for my grandmother’s family as the conversion was financed from Grandma’s estate.
