Westwick Terrace was built by John Linton in 1875 to house his farm workers. The row of 8 cottages replaced earlier dwellings. The date stone is now hidden under the extension of number 8.

The following is taken from an article by Jane Williams that appeared in the April 2024 edition of the village journal
The bathroom/kitchen extensions at the back were added in the 1960s. The late Arthur and Meta Harvey at number 2 remembered well the use of the outside toilet.
The gardens are at the back of the Terrace, beyond a communal walkway and were originally much larger, staggered, with the garden for number 1 at the side of the property. Mr. Pearson, the owner at the time, decided to split the gardens to free up land to build what is now ‘New House’. Mrs Prior at number 8 refused to give up her garden, which was her pride and joy, so it remained full size. Snowy Farr was moved from number 3 to number 8 after her death and promptly dug up her garden and planted cabbages!
