Foxelwood was built in 1914 by the Morris family, as part of their market gardening business. The family had lived in Westwick in 1779 and began their business in the early 1800s. Joseph Morris moved to Oakington in the 1830s, but kept his business in Westwick, in 1838 owning two acres and renting additional land as well as letting cottages to labourers. The Morrises moved back to Westwick in the 1890s, and by 1910 were holding 8.5 acres of land. Foxelwood House was built for Miss Bertha Morris in 1914, who grew fruit there until at least 1937.

During the nineties Brian & Sue Jackson and their two sons lived in Foxelwood. Brian restored his 1910 Marshall traction engine in his workshop to the right of the house.
