1 Station Cottage is one of a pair of semi-detached cottages built in the 19th century to house railway workers.
In the 1980s Station Cottages were inhabited by ‘Chicken George’. He lived in number 1 and his chickens in the then derelict number 2, hence the nickname. [Taken from an article by Jane Williams in the April 2024 edition of the village Journal]
