Maris Barn was converted to a dwelling in 1975 by Jim Lipsombe a builder, who had moved to the village that year and lived opposite.

Colin Figue who carved the ‘Maris Barn’ sign and worked form the stables next door from around 1971 to 1974.

Previously the barn had been used as part of Waverley Dairy Farm and at one time was reported to be the village school prior to 1871 (more on the current school here.)
